Waihi Beach poem
On hot stuffy school days...
my feet remember vicious crabs nipping furiously at me,
my legs remember salty water dripping off me,
my body remembers my sticky wet suit rubbing against me,
my arms remember slicing swiftly through the waves,
my hands remember digging into mountains of seaweed,
my face remembers the scorching sun reflecting on me,
my mind remembers the fun times at Waihi beach.
my feet remember vicious crabs nipping furiously at me,
my legs remember salty water dripping off me,
my body remembers my sticky wet suit rubbing against me,
my arms remember slicing swiftly through the waves,
my hands remember digging into mountains of seaweed,
my face remembers the scorching sun reflecting on me,
my mind remembers the fun times at Waihi beach.

Extreme Sport Quick Write
Peering over the side of the cliff my heart skips a beat.Below me fast racing water flows around at the bottom of what seemed like the 20 foot tall cliff. It gleams as I look at it making me want to just leap straight down.Beside me my friend trys to wiggle his helmet on but it sticks thoroughly to his head just like mine. I look down at my trusty kayak dreamily. Its pale orange glares back at me as if to say don't worry. In front of me gleaming water trickles down gracefully from the top of the mountain, catching my breath and making me feel like this was actually worth it.I feel a shiver run up my spine. Should we be actually doing this? I wonder.Suddenly the breath taking sight and the sound of the water takes all of my emotions, wraps them up then throws them away.Knowing that soon that wound change back to before, I wiggle my helmet for one last time then confidently say two frightful words "Lets go". I jumped into my kayak, strap myself up then on the count of three push myself steadily of the cliff. Flying off I scream a menacing scream and hit the water. "Best thing I have ever done"I exclaimed proudly.
